Sullivan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant is proud to offer the following Irish and Scotch whiskeys for your enjoyment. As far back as the 6th century, monks in Ireland and Scotland were pioneering the art of distilling, having learned the necessary skills from their missionary odysseys around Europe. Whiskey was produced both for recreational purposes, and as a medicinal compound. They called it visce beatha, Gealic for “water of life.” By the 19th century, whiskey was a vast industry and the staple dinner drink of the majority of the populations of both countries. The tradition of centuries of distilling is still evident in today’s Irish and Scotch whiskeys, and we hope you find a bit of it in one of our selections. Remember that there is no wrong way to enjoy whiskey, so whether you drink it chilled, with a splash of water, over ice, or neat; above all, enjoy!
